Bird Sand / Oystershell (20kg)

Birds use dust or fine sand to bathe in and is part of their preening and plumage routine.

They work the sand into their feathers to absorb any excess oil and by shaking it out again they are ridding themselves of old feathers and mites.

Ostrea Bird Sand is a fine, sea sand which has been dried and heat-treated. The addition of oyster shells and seashells increases the availability of calcium for a stronger skeleton and good quality eggs. Anise oil is added for a pleasant smell.

Ostrea Bird Sand should be used on bird cage floors and in aviaries.

It is a specially graded sterilized dry sand mixed with crushed oyster shell and is particularly suitable for use on the floor of cages and aviaries to enable easy cleaning.
